Senator Jenny McAllister is the new minister for the NDIS and for the first time, the NDIS will fall under the portfolio of the Health Minister, Mark Butler
What will this mean for the disability sector, participants and providers?
The Prime Minister has revealed his new cabinet after the overwhelming win of the Labour party this month.
Mark Butler will remain Health Minister but in an unexpected twist, the NDIS has been added to his portfolio and Jenny McAllister has been handed the responsibility of managing the NDIS under his leadership.
Australians who rely on the NDIS for daily supports have been exhausted by the seemingly endless changes to the sector over the past few years, and today marks the second major leadership change in three months.
Let's get behind our new ministers and assist them to make our sector strong, efficient and effective for all participants.
