What do you want to know about Wendy Rose and My Virtual Coach?

I completed my Bachelor of Applied Social Science in 2012 (Counselling and social research) and my International Coaching Federation Accreditation in 2013. 

I worked counselling carers in the disability sector and then added coaching and counselling for people who had experienced work trauma or injury. 

I was the general manager of an international training company, creating teaching materials, online resources and event materials for 13 years before I moved entirely to the disability sector in 2018. 

I stepped into full-time disability work in 2018, building on my sector counselling experience that began back in 2013. My first role outside of counselling was as a hands-on support worker in both aged care and disability. While it was a long way from running an international training company, I absolutely loved the participant-facing nature of the job. It gave me the opportunity to make a tangible, positive difference in someone’s day—every single day.

My employer soon promoted me to staff supervisor and support coordinator. In this new role, I quickly noticed a severe, systemic gap: a complete lack of training and support for support coordinators. Since then, countless clients have confirmed my own experience. New coordinators are regularly given a "you're a smart person, you'll figure it out" introduction, with almost no formal guidance past that point.

For the first two years, I offered my time and resources entirely for free to build up the community's confidence. This foundation eventually led to the creation of My Virtual Coach, including our dedicated, subscription-based training platform, MVC 24/7. Today, my goal remains the same: ensuring no provider ever has to "just figure it out" alone.
